DRIFT

SLIDE · CHAIN · SEND IT

An endless sunlit road with a horde problem. Brake into the bend, hold the slide to build your multiplier — and the county pays cash for every zombie under the bumper.

THE FULL TOUR

Zombies. Bounties in wallet cash — runners sprint for your lane and pay 2×, brutes soak two rounds and pay 3×. Brushing past one at speed is a close shave: it feeds the multiplier and keeps a chain alive between corners. Every couple of klicks the radio calls a bounty wave — double pay for 18 s, five heads clears it for +$120.

The road isn’t yours. Deer break from the verge without warning — read one and dodge it clean for the same nerve a shave pays. And the far lane has an owner: cars, vans and flatbeds come the other way at closing speed. They’ll pull over and lean on the horn for you; take their half anyway and thread it for a close call, or meet one head-on and lose your speed, a bite of the pack, and the chain you were holding.

Contracts. Three county jobs a run, top-left under your wallet — cross a target and the cash lands on the spot.

Today’s Road. One seeded road a day: same corners, horde and jobs for everyone, with its own best that resets at midnight. Your best run comes back as a ghost to race — and some days it rains.

The wallet. Buys guns that auto-fire at shamblers on the verge, then garage hardware — a longer-range pack, a regen tune, track tyres — fitted once, driven on for good.

Rest areas. Services at the 3rd, 7th, 12th… km, signed from 3 km out — a broad exit road into a big charging lot. Turn in (or hit Pause) and the car takes over: down to 10 km/h, into a stall, plug in. The meter bills your wallet by the kWh — $0.45/kWh plus a $1 hookup, idle fees and all — and RESUME sees you back onto the road.

Trophies. Firsts and feats land on the shelf below, for keeps — and driving Today’s Road day after day builds a streak it pays out on.

The cabin. You drive from behind the wheel; V glances down at a top view. The wheel’s left thumb pad holds cruise, the right skips a track, and the dash stereo plays your own music — tap it, or keys K / N / P / M.

Listen to it. One gear, so the motor’s pitch is your speed; how loud it is, is how hard you’re pulling. Lift and brake and the note bends down as the pack takes charge back. And the second you’re off the tarmac the road goes loud and dark under you.
